2008 Jus` Blues Music Awards Week Is A Wrap

The 2008 Jus` Blues Music Awards Week is a wrap.  Memphis, Home of the Blues and the Birthplace of Rock & Roll has hosted another spectacular music special event.  Blues & Soul music celebrities, executives and fans came together to network and celebrate the accomplishments of their peers at this year's Jus` Blues Music Awards Show and the Night Of The Living Legends Dinner held at The Historical Daisy on Beale Street. 

Blues & Soul music fans all around the world logged onto the Internet and voted on the web sites of www.jusbluesmusic.com and www.jusbluesmusicfoundation.org for their favorite Blues Man and Blues Woman, their favorite Soul Man and Soul woman, their favorite DJ, their favorite songs, their favorite juke joint and many other catagories.  Thousands of Blues & Soul music fans votes had to be tallied to obtain the final results.

Jus` Blues Music Awards Honor The Legendary Joe Simon

The 2008 Jus` Blues Music Awards honored the Grammy Award winning, legendary Blues & Soul singer Joe Simon with the Jus` Blues Music Lifetime Achievement Award.    The music veteran was responsible for many hits in the 1970's like the Grammy Award winning hit, The Chokin' Kind, The Power of Love, Drowning In The Sea of Love and countless others.

The honorable occasion was at the Jus` Blues Music Awards Show on August 7th at The Historical Daisy Theater on Beale Street in downtown Memphis.  The musical journey and life of Bishop Joe Simon is a joyful and triumphant story of spiritual growth and change.  For more of this story click here.

The Historical Daisy Theater, Beale Street, Memphis

The Historical Daisy Theater on world famous Beale Street in downtown Memphis, oozes with a feel of down home Blues & Soul music entertainment. The building is a wonderful example of nickelodeon architecture from the early cinema era.
