THE BIGGEST BLUES EVENT OF THE SUMMER
will be the 2007 Jus` Blues Music Awards Show. The August 16th event will
come to the Blues Capital of the World, Memphis, Tennessee. Producer
Charles Mitchell says, "the event annually honors and showcases some of
America's finest African-American Blues music artists." This year the Awards
Show event moves from Atlanta, Georgia to Memphis, Tennessee at the
Historical Daisy Theatre in the heart of the Beale Street Blues music district.
The production theme will magnify how some of the legendary Black Blues
artists got their songs recorded and promoted as they performed in country
juke joints and smoky lounges across America and around the world, hence
opening the door of opportunity for many artists/musicians of today.
For decades, Beale Street has been the main stopping point for musicians
playing local clubs, as well as being the center of Memphis' African-American
culture. The 6th Annual Jus` Blues Awards Show will salute Blues music
legend Maxine Brown with the Lowell Fulson Lifetime Achievement Award.
